Happy Wednesday
I sure can feel Fall in the air, not only the cool morning weather this morning, but also because of all the activity happening around the church these past couple weeks. We are definitely gearing up for a great school year at West Union. Here is what is coming up
This week: Sunday worship at 9am with Holy Communion. We kick off our Food Collection for the whole month. Bring your canned goods! We have challenged the 50+ age group and the 49 and under crowd to out give one another. We will build 2 mountains of food in the sanctuary. Please donate and watch our Love grow throughout the month!!
GOD’S WORK, OUR HANDS SUNDAY! September 9th The Mission & Outreach team met last night and solidified our plans. We are asking people to bring either homemade cookies (bake with your kids and teach them how we work for God’s world) or bring individually wrapped candy (ie: Hersey kisses or snack size bars or hard candy or starbursts) Also start thinking about places you want to go to and bring a bit of sweetness and cheer in the name of Jesus.
- will have a small flyer to bring with you that will tell the recipients of our goody bag what is happening at West Union. This Sunday is about being God’s hands in the world, that’s it. So who would you like to visit? People you haven’t seen at church in a while, or someone who doesn’t get to go out as much as they used to? Maybe go to the nursing home in your town and just drop off a little bag of cookies and candy to bring a smile to someone’s face. How about the police station or fire department? Start wondering and jot your ideas down, bring them with you to share the load with everyone to be God’s Hands at work in the world. Please see the sign up table at church this Sunday.
A couple other reminders:
-I will be on vacation Sept 5th thru 10th. If you have a pastoral emergency please call Darcy and she will get you thru to Pastor Stephanie who is covering for me.
-Rally Sunday is Sept. 16th. Our kick off to Sunday School. Magic Norm will be with us. I have attached the registration.
