March 19 2019

Friends there is lots to do around West Union in the coming weeks and months. As you know in order to meet our budget, as voted on in 2017, we need to hold all church fundraisers. That means we need the whole church to pitch in for these events. Two big ones that are coming up for sure!

April 28th is the Polka service and Turkey Dinner fundraiser.

DONATIONS Needed: Turkeys, bags of herb seasoned cubed stuffing mix, chicken stock, butter, pies (store bought or homemade) Jimmy’s coleslaw dressing, russet potatoes. Remember donating these items keeps the costs down and our fundraiser dollars increase. You can start bringing the nonperishables to the church kitchen now. If you would rather donate money so we can purchase items like celery, onions, cream cheese, sour cream, corn and dinner rolls, you may give a check to church and earmark it for Turkey Dinner food.

ALSO: items for silent auction and gift baskets. We would like several auction items (per usual bidding) and baskets to sell tickets (like we did last year. $1 gets you 1 ticket and you place it in the bucket by that basket, at the end we pull one name out as the winner). We made $400 on 6 baskets last year. We will also have a quilt that will be $5 a chance. Those tickets and a picture of quilt will come out in April.

September 28th Country Market and Craft Sale.

This year we are going to concentrate on the Craft part of this more than we did last year per feedback we received from attendees. Heidi has graciously volunteered to serve as coordinator again this year. We need folks to start working on crafts now to donate to the Market. We are trying to come up with a few crafts and days that we could meet at church and make it a group effort and fun. If you have a craft, such as; bird houses, or Christmas ornaments etc… that folks could help with please let Heidi or Darcy know and we will help facilitate the get together. We must start thinking about this now!!

We will still have need of pumpkins, produce, bake goods as well, so keep those in mind as well. Thanks.
